This statement from the Bible has been the song in my heart since my first healing in Christian Science (I Chron. 29: 11): "Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all."

Some years ago a position was offered me which I felt reluctant to accept, as I was afraid of having to be absent from my work because of sickness. I had previously been employed in this kind of work for a number of years and had been absent as much as a month and a half at one time because of colds, influenza, and general weakness. This time trouble appeared more likely than ever because I had been suf-fering for the past year from liver attacks, which the doctor had been unable to cure.

Nevertheless, I felt impelled to accept the position. Soon the difficulties I had feared were manifested, and I dragged through day after day thinking, "Well, I made it today, but I can't possibly make it tomorrow." I had one severe cold after another and a fever almost every day, as well as frequent attacks of the liver complaint.
