My gratitude is very great for having proved that God "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think" (Eph. 3: 20). This proof has come through my striving earnestly to put into practice the teachings of Christian Science. Although many changes have had to be made in my thinking, and I have sometimes found it no easy matter to silence the claims of the material senses, I have learned to stand firm during testing times.

I shall always be very grateful to the friend who, although only a new student herself, told me something of Christian Science at a time when I was puzzled about religion and was unhappy generally. Her words caused me to seek out and attend a Christian Science church and to borrow Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I very soon obtained my own copy, and through studying it in conjunction with the Bible I was able to discard many wrong concepts and replace them with the true.

Many blessings have come and much progress has unfolded during the years since that time. I have experienced both moral and physical healings. In proportion to my gaining the correct view of man through spiritual perception my eyesight improved, and it is now normal. Other healings have been those of the smoking and social drinking habits, influenza, migraine, bronchitis, shingles, neuritis, rheumatism, an abscess on the lower jaw, and food poisoning, the effects of which completely cleared away in a few hours after I recognized something of my real selfhood made in God's image. Many times supply has been made manifest through my maintaining the spiritual fact of the situation. Some of my problems have been overcome through my own affirmations of Truth and others through the work of a practitioner, to whom my great gratitude is due.
