"Love is the liberator."

"Love is the liberator." This statement from page 225 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy is a signpost for me, and as I have heeded it in my daily life I have found harmony and freedom expressed in my experience.

When I was about ten years old I dislocated my arm. The friends with whom I was playing sent me home, where my mother immediately declared the truth regarding God's child and prayed silently. Very shortly the bone snapped back into the socket, making a sound as though someone had snapped his fingers. I was able that evening to carry out previously made plans, and I was not hampered in my activities then or later, although some time elapsed before the healing of stiffness and soreness was complete. No sling was used, nor was any examination made. The arm has been exceptionally strong and limber ever since.

A few years later the pupils in the school which I attended were receiving audio-visual instruction in gas warfare—how to detect gas, what to do about it, how to prevent ill effects. It was so graphically presented that when I came home I manifested all the effects of having been gassed. When my parents showed me the nature and falsity of my mental state I was able through what I had learned in the Christian Science Sunday School to banish the fear in my mind. Then the symptoms of the condition disappeared, and my breathing became normal, leaving me entirely free.
