In 1930 our family moved to a city where my husband hoped to find employment. On going to the employment office he was told that there were six thousand people ahead of him, waiting for jobs. For three weeks he looked for work but found none. At the end of that time he said he believed that he would try Christian Science, as we knew something of what it taught, although we were not students at the time.

He called a practitioner on a Friday; the following Monday he went to work in a position which he enjoyed very much. We then began to attend church and to study daily the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. Blessings followed at once, and from then on they have been many.

Our three children were quickly healed of so-called children's diseases; within a few hours mumps, measles, and chicken pox were overcome. A son was severely burned on the top of his head by hot grease. I immediately declared God's love for His children, and the effects of the accident soon disappeared. This son was also healed of pneumonia through my prayerful work. When he and his brother were called to serve in the armed forces Christian Science was a great comfort to my husband and me.
