I thank God for Christian Science and for the blessings it has brought to me and mine. For about five years I suffered from asthma. I took various kinds of medicine and went from one doctor to another, but received very little help. I was hardly able to take care of our home and our baby daughter.

Finally one day in my extremity I telephoned my mother and asked her to come to me. When she came she said, "Well, I know this much: when you have a healing in Christian Science it is permanent." This interested me, and I decided to try Science. I called a practitioner and asked her to work for me. That evening I lost my fear of the asthma. Although the physical condition was not entirely healed, I had gained some spiritual light, and I clung to it, refusing to accept discord as true of my real selfhood, God's image and likeness. I had treatment only once after that. Through it there was uncovered in my thinking a grudge which I had been holding against someone for a long time. When I cast out this wrong thought and saw man as God made him—pure, perfect, and good—I was healed of the asthma and the hatred too. The healing has been permanent.

My husband and our little girl have had many healings in Christian Science, for which I am very grateful. I overcame the social drinking habit and gave up using tobacco, as well as coffee and tea. I want to give thanks for my membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
