MY PRAYER

Give me the shepherd heart,
Vigilant, tender,
Wakeful to all human need,
Quick to discern the mental call
Of the wayward, the weary, the willful,
Famishing for word of Truth.

Not for prestige, or place, or power
Be my prayer.
Give me the Christly compassion;
Give me the shepherd heart.
