After eight years of continual blessings in Christian Science I feel impelled to tell of a few outstanding healings I have had. Shortly after I became interested in this religion our son, then fourteen years of age, went to a Christian Science Sunday School and later became a member of The Mother Church and a branch church. On a number of occasions he was able to help me to know the truth.

At four o'clock one morning I was awakened by extreme pain and found it difficult to stand, sit, or lie down. The difficulty would probably have been diagnosed as neuritis of the back. I awoke our son and asked him to help me in Christian Science. He worked silently for perhaps ten minutes; then I felt relieved enough to get into bed, and I fell asleep. Within twenty-four hours the healing was complete. I later asked the boy what truths he had known in working for me, and he replied: "I saw man as a spiritual idea, completely free from matter. A Sunday School teacher once told me that when we are working for someone in Christian Science we should pick out a synonym for God that fits the need. That night I used 'Life,' and I thought of many wonderful things connected with Life."

How grateful I am for the Christian Science Sunday Schools, which give our young people such a strong foundation in Truth! I am also grateful to the practitioners who stood by me at different times when the way seemed difficult.

For a number of years I thought I had released our son from a false sens of mother-love, but the day came when I realized that I had only partially done so. When the Army called him, I found I was wanting. I would frequently find myself at the telephone crying for help from a Christian Science practitioner. Although help was received and appreciated, the night of the day our son left for service I was full of grief. As I desperately looked to God for help, Mrs. Eddy's immortal statement from page 463 of Science and Health came to me, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." When I examined my thinking I soon saw where I had been wrong, and through the realization that God's ideas cannot be separated from good I was healed. There have been no tears, grief, heartache, or loneliness on my part since.

I am profoundly grateful for Mrs. Eddy's revelation, Christian Science, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction, which has helped me greatly in demonstrating the truth.—(Mrs.) Lillie L. Washburn, Detroit, Michigan.
