I am very grateful for many healings that I have had in Christian Science, including those of colds and fever.

One healing was of pains in my head, suffered when a playmate hit me on the head. My mother was at a beauty salon at the time. Her hairdresser, who is a Christian Scientist, taught me in a Christian Science Sunday School; so I went to her shop and asked her to help me. She gave me a Christian Science treatment, and while waiting for my mother I fell asleep. When we left the shop I had no more pain and was free. The next day my playmate was nice and polite and has tried since not to be so rough. This experience happened over a year ago.

More recently, when my mother and I were in Rome, Italy, we went to visit a friend. While they talked I read from the Manual of The Mother Church by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. The next day while out driving with a friend I was thinking about what I had read in the Manual and in the Lesson-Sermon as given in the Christian Science Quarterly, which I had read with my mother that morning. When the car stopped and one of the passengers got out, the car door was slammed on my hand, and my finger was caught in the lock. I did not feel any pain, and there was no evidence of the accident. The friend with us, who is not a Christian Scientist, was disturbed; but later, though she expressed much surprise, she acknowledged that I had not been hurt. I was thankful for this protection.
