Having often drawn much confidence and strength from reading and hearing testimonies of healing in Christian Science, I feel it is my duty to tell of the divine unfoldment which brought about for me the perfect healing of a disease which had caused my mother to pass on. A few days after her passing I noticed that I was manifesting symptoms similar to hers and felt intense pain.

I had been brought up in Christian Science, and thus I knew that I was experiencing what was the result of fear. Although I had been watching my thinking, I had not been able to remove this fear from my consciousness. I asked a practitioner for help, and very soon much of it disappeared; and I recognized that the disease did not in reality belong to me at all. However, the symptoms persisted.

Then it became clear to me that I must not only see this disease as unreal for myself, but understand that it does not exist for others either. In God's creation there is no disease, and therefore it has no power to rule over health, which is man's real status. We have the right and ability to remove disease from consciousness through a clearer understanding of God's law, just as we have the right to abolish a mistake in mathematics by a better understanding of its rules.
