Countless blessings have come into my life through Christian Science, and it has met my every need. I was sent at the age of ten years to a Christian Science Sunday School because my mother felt that her religion had ceased to satisfy her. I had been attending the Christian Science Sunday School only a few months when I had a recurrence of a swelling of the glands of the throat. This difficulty had appeared before at rather regular intervals, and I had previously had daily treatments for it from our family physician for a period of ten days or two weeks. My parents wanted to call the physician at once, but I asked to be allowed to rely on God for healing. It was agreed that I should be permitted to use what I knew of Christian Science, but that if the condition was not greatly improved by the following morning, I must have medical aid.

I went to my room to think about what I had learned of God and man. I remembered that in the first chapter of Genesis we are told (1:31 ), "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good," and in John (1:3 ), "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." I knew that a painful, disfiguring, physical condition was not good, and therefore God could not have made it; and since He made all, it had never been made and was therefore not real or true. I was instantaneously healed and have never had a return of the difficulty.
