Among the many instances of God's protection that have come to me during my experience, two in particular stand out as inspiring proofs of the healing power of Christian Science.

During the invasion of Okinawa our ships were constantly being attacked by enemy dive bombers, and for a while it looked as if the ship to which I was attached would not reach shore. Resisting the suggestion of fear and turning my thought to God, I experienced a feeling of assurance that He was guarding, guiding, and protecting His own. Very shortly all was quiet, and we were put ashore safely.

I experienced another proof of the healing power of Truth recently while flying from Guam to Honolulu. We encountered a storm and were told that we might have to make a water landing. As I opened Science and Health to page 17, my attention was directed to the spiritual interpretation of the Lord's Prayer, where Mrs. Eddy writes, "Enable us to know,—as in heaven, so on earth,—God is omnipotent, supreme." Realizing this truth and praying as I had been taught to pray in the Christian Science Sunday School, I felt the presence of God's power, and soon all was calm, and we flew on to our destination.
