THE TABLE IN THE WILDERNESS

The Scriptures abound in illustrations of God's beneficence, records which give hope in every age to those who wander in the wilderness of human despair. These ancient accounts are fresh and inspiring, for they teach that divine aid is available in every circumstance. Exalting God's power and love and wisdom, Jeremiah declared (32:17), "There is nothing too hard for thee."

Only to the material consciousness, which Christian Science discloses to be utterly false and illusive, does good seem limited or absent. To the spiritually-minded —those who are awake to the presence of divine Love and who value the qualities and forces of Deity as priceless substance—every problem is a joyous challenge to prove the possibilities of infinite good.

Christian Science exhorts complaining humanity to rise above the world of belief, which the mortal senses originate, and demonstrate true consciousness, which enfolds the substance and experiences of real being. It rouses mankind to understand God and His spiritual ideas rather than to remain baffled and defeated by the material concepts which the physical senses perceive.
