Completeness of man established. Large, painful growth disappears
I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing for myself, but because of a wonderful healing of my sister. I began to read Christian Science literature solely to learn how this healing had been brought about, not because I thought a study of the subject could do anything for me. I soon learned it contained the answers to all of my problems, which at that time were many.
The need seemed so great that I began earnestly to study the Lesson-Sermons from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as found in the Christian Science Quarterly. I had been a student of the Bible since childhood and loved it. Seeing the truth unfold in such a way that I could use it every minute brought great happiness. The desert was indeed blossoming as the rose. I had never known such happiness.
A healing I am most grateful for came to me when I was a young student of Science. A painful and sizable growth was removed by mental surgery. I asked a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. The pain stopped about twenty minutes after the treatment was given, and I forgot about it. Five days later the growth came to my thought, and when I looked, it was gone. There was no scar, not even a trace of where it had been. This healing came about through the practitioner's understanding that God makes man perfect, complete; that nothing can be added to him, so there is nothing to be taken away.
