CHANGELESS AND UNAFRAID

Nobody can change a fact. No circumstance, condition, wish, persuasion, or prayer can exert the slightest influence on that which is. Hence the comfort which comes to humanity through the Comforter, Christian Science, by reason of its revelation of truth, reality. For truth is totally good. And truth does not change.

Man is conceived of God, divine Mind. He exists in the nature of that which conceives him. In other words, he embodies the qualities, or spiritual idea, by which divine Mind, God, expresses Himself. This is fact, changeless and eternal. The Discoverer of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, has not only stated it and proved it but has presented the rule whereby anyone may prove it for himself. "The Science of being," she says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 336), "furnishes the rule of perfection, and brings immortality to light."

This "rule of perfection," namely, that the qualities which make up man are as perfect as the divine and infinite Mind from which they spring, enables any individual who applies, practices, or realizes it to present himself in terms of fact, immune from successful attack. This does not mean that what calls itself a mortal is immune from attack, but that all evil implicit in mortality can be dissipated and wiped out by and for any individual in the degree that the evidence, the consciousness, of the presence and activity of perfect spiritual qualities is established.
