Heart condition healed and grief overcome

It is a blessing to be able to share with others the experience of a lifetime in Christian Science. The truths I learned in a Christian Science Sunday School from the time I was a small child to the age of twenty have been through the years of more value than words can express. My home felt God's protecting care, for my mother daily studied and applied the teaching of Christian Science in working out the problems of her family. Once a brother, who had gone into the street after a ball, was run over by a car filled with eight men. The front wheel ran over his leg above the knee, but not a bone was broken. People who saw this said it was a miracle that the boy had not been killed. My mother did daily protective work for her family and knew, with Isaiah (Isa. 26:3), "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee."

There were four happy years in a denominational college, where I was the only Christian Scientist. If a student was ill, she was required to remain in the infirmary. Not once during the four years was it necessary that I be subject to this ruling of the school.

It has certainly been proved in the years that have followed that Christian Science is a preventive as well as a curative religion. It has been such a joy to have the early morning hours in study and prayer before going to my work as a teacher in the public schools.
