Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Kansan-Republican
Newton, Kansas (Society).
Christian Science Society, Newton, 401 West Broadway, formally dedicated its edifice on Sunday, October 3, 1948, services being held in the beautiful building in the morning and in the afternoon.
Members of the society are happy in their new home, and a brief historical sketch of the organization seems timely. On Wednesday, November 27, 1906, an earnest group of Christian Scientists met to organize a Christian Science Society. Regular services were held in a home on West Seventh Street during the first year. In November, 1907, a room in the Masonic Temple was leased. The first service to convene there was on Thanksgiving Day of that year.
