The
first chapter of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, starts on the same note as the Bible quotations which head it, namely, the certainty that good exists and is available to mankind now.
Like
some sleep-fighting child, I cling to fear,With rest more close than hand-reach at my willOnly by bidding pain-nagged sense be still,Grasping the far-sought gift that lies so near.
Demonstration
is a subject dear to the heart of the student of Christian Science, for a demonstration, as the term is used in this Science, is a proof that he is awakening from a false, mortal sense of existence and beginning to behold creation as God made it, spiritual, harmonious, and immortal.
Christian Science services sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Merced, California, will be held in the Church Bowl, Yosemite National Park, every Sunday afternoon at three o'clock during the month of August.
