This testimony concerns the solving of a housing problem, and so may be beneficial as well as expressive of my deep gratitude.

Prior to the summer of 1941 my wife and I had been concerned about the unsatisfactory nature of the apartment in which we were living. Revelings in adjacent apartments interfered with our study and did not seem to yield to our mental work. Gradually the conviction came that we must rent a house. We talked to several agents with no satisfactory results. Meantime the apartment conditions grew less bearable, and we were much concerned. We got in contact with another agent, who was also a builder. He showed us a place which appeared satisfactory, but was in a district we did not like. He then offered to build us a similar place in a more desirable district. This meant financing the building of a new house, and we had no money in the bank. In fact, we still owed considerable money on our piano. We were strongly convinced, however, that a new home was in prospect for us, and we resolved to go ahead under the guidance of divine Mind.

We had no money to make a necessary down payment on the land. The next day the builder called and offered to lend us the money. Recognizing the hand of divine Providence, we accepted. The land was bought and the digging for the foundation commenced. Without any human effort on my part, my business began to increase. I am a free-lance broadcaster. Calls began to come in for more and more work, until at the end of two months I was doing over twice my average amount of work.
