My heart is overflowing with...
My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for His revelation of Christian Science. I find my desire expressed in David's words (Ps. 100:4), "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."
There have been many cases of physical healing and of protection in my experience brought about through the understanding which Christian Science gives. As a child I was healed of an attack of appendicitis with the help of my Sunday School teacher. Later, when I began really to study Christian Science, I was led to appreciate and love Mrs. Eddy through reading several authorized biographies, and my understanding of her place in the order of divine revelation has progressed in the measure of my increasing understanding of that revelation. Her words about Christian Science on page 364 of "Miscellaneous Writings" have brought me conviction and assurance: "It is the soul of divine philosophy, and there is no other philosophy. It is not a search after wisdom, it is wisdom: it is God's right hand grasping the universe, —all time, space, immortality, thought, extension, cause, and effect; constituting and governing all identity, individuality, law, and power."
One of the most outstanding healings which I was able to bring about for myself as a young student was that of defective eyesight. Early in college I allowed myself to be impressed and made fearful by the plight of a senior honor student who was said to be going blind due to eyestrain from overstudy. A couple of years later I began to experience difficulty in reading, and this old impression of fear recurred to my thought, but with it came the clear conviction that what I had let into consciousness I was free to put out. Therefore whenever the print before me became blurred or confused, I would close the book and take up Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. To me it was reasonable and logical that I could read the words of Truth and find healing, and I did. Within a period of days my vision became normal and has remained so during the thirteen years since then.
