"He that dwelleth in the secret...

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty," writes the Psalmist (Ps. 91:1). As I review my thirty-five years of study of Christian Science, I perceive that in the proportion that I have consciously dwelt in this secret place, in precisely that degree have I been blessed.

When I first attended a Christian Science service, I was not aware that it was to be a turning point in my career. I had always experienced good health and enjoyed taking part in the usual sports and did not know that I was in need of any spiritual enlightenment. However, I smoked a good deal; also I occasionally joined with my friends in a social drink. Five years later the smoking had entirely left me, and shortly afterwards I experienced a total lack of desire for intoxicants of any kind. I was very grateful indeed for this.

Faults of character and disposition are yielding to the better understanding I am receiving of the truth of being as explained in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
