"To live so as to keep human...
"To live so as to keep human consciousness in constant relation with the divine, the spiritual, and the eternal, is to individualize infinite power; and this is Christian Science." These arresting words are to he found on page 160 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" by Mary Baker Eddy. It is with great humility that I testify to the truth of this statement, for Christian Science has completely revolutionized my life.
Before I became a student of this Science, my ignorance of its real nature made me ridicule what I thought it to be. When, in my extremity, I at last turned to Christian Science, it was truly not found wanting. Indeed, it has at every point far surpassed my human expectations. I must admit that I approached it with skepticism, even though my father had been healed of a serious difficulty in a very short time through its ministrations. He lived for several years thereafter, although doctors had given him up, saying there was nothing more they could do.
When I was willing to give up preconceived ideas, and in humility turned to God, I began at once to experience His healing presence. Overnight I was healed of constipation of long standing, which had been the cause of one operation, and because of which I had taken pills and oils every day for years. I no longer doubted that there was a great power or law operating which I had heretofore not recognized, and I desired to understand that law.
