Demonstration of the Primal Order
According to material theories of existence, man has a fleshly beginning, a precarious life, and an inevitable death. Jesus came to show mankind the way out of this materialistic concept of life. Speaking of his mission, he said (Matt. 18:11), "The Son of man is come to save that which was lost." That which was lost was the primal order, the spiritual idea of God and man, which sin and materialism claimed to cloud. This primal or spiritual order is that which always has been, is now, and ever shall be.
Christian Science, in accord with Christ Jesus' promise that a Comforter should come that would call to remembrance all that he had taught and would lead into all truth, is revealing that the imperfect material conditions which seem so apparent and real to human sense are unreal. It is leading men into the understanding and demonstration of the primal, spiritual order, wherein man and the universe are found to be eternal, spiritual, perfect, and harmonious.
Material existence has been believed in for so long that to the spiritually unenlightened thought it seems normal and natural, while spiritual existence seems vague and incomprehensible. But men will find their real status only as they learn of the spiritual, return to that which has been from the beginning. It is natural and normal for man to be spiritual, good, happy, and immortal, and anything contrary to this perfect state of being is abnormal and deceptive.
