The following testimony is submitted with sincere gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science.

In the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has written on page x. "The divine Principle of healing is proved in the personal experience of any sincere seeker of Truth." When I first heard of Christian Science many years ago, I had been in the hospital and the doctors, after a series of X rays, had said that I had a spot on the left lung. I was advised to rest and stay in the fresh air and sunshine. I also reported to the doctor every two weeks. Then I asked a friend who was a Christian Scientist if I might attend a Wednesday evening meeting with her, and I was given some Christian Science literature to read. Soon after this I stopped taking medicine, and I was completely healed in Christian Science, The healing was verified by the doctor who took the X rays.

After this experience I attended the Christian Science church and had other healings, but as I did not understand how I had been healed I began again, in a few years, to rely on medical aid. During this time I was operated on for appendicitis. About two years later I was taken suddenly ill and was subjected to three days of X rays and examinations. I was then told that I could never lead as active a life as I had formerly, that I must be very careful of my diet and above all avoid fatigue, and that I should always have to take a mineral oil in order to have proper elimination. I was bound by these laws for a year, and then I awoke from the mesmerism and began through Christian Science to claim my heritage as a child of God, with the result that for the past four years I have led a more active life than ever before. After this healing I joined The Mother Church in Boston and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
