The Mandate of Mind

The natural desire of the sincere student of Christian Science is for spiritual growth, a continual, growing awareness of the omnipresence of good which demonstrates the nothingness of evil thinking and its beliefs. Constant prayer for spiritual understanding enables us to follow more closely in the footsteps of Truth and to emulate the works of Christ Jesus.

The glimpses of reality which come to the awakened thought and the growing realization of the present perfection of man as a spiritual idea beget a constant, consistent effort to lift thought still higher, still farther away from the darkness of material thinking into the spiritual knowing which reflects God. Many opportunities to use this growing spiritual understanding are provided through the authorized channels of the Christian Science movement.

Jesus, our great Way–shower, always kept active in his own thought and experience the Christ–idea of man. And his final resurrection proved for all time that his true selfhood was one with the Father and had never for one moment been separated from Him. It also demonstrated without doubt the powerlessness of hatred to touch spiritual man, which Jesus himself so completely evidenced.
