"O give thanks unto the Lord...
"O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever" (I Chron. 16:34). Words can never express my gratitude for Christian Science. I was led to this truth in such a beautiful way that I feel I should share it with others.
I had been in poor health for a number of years, and finally submitted to a major operation, hoping that it would solve my problems. However, I remained under a doctor's care for four years. Two years after the operation a friend came to spend a few days in our home. I did not know she was a student of Christian Science. Seeing my condition, she told me how she had been helped through this Science. It all sounded wonderful, but I did not feel interested. However, before leaving our home she made this remark to me, "Just remember, when the doctors have done all they can do for you, you can turn to God through Christian Science."
Two years later, after becoming much worse in spite of many kinds of treatment for a form of bowel trouble, including a strict diet for four months, I was told by three doctors that there was no further help for me through materia medica. I was having slight hemorrhages of the bowels. I was told I could never eat solid foods and would have to take mineral oil every day. Many other predictions were made at the time. Although I was instructed to return each week for observation, I never returned.
