We Can Trust God

"In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust," so begins the seventy-first Psalm. Many other Psalms and passages of the Bible express the same faith. If a man, outside a religious meeting, should make such a statement today, folks might think he was a bit queer or a religious fanatic. But the Bible does not traffic in queer folks and fanatics. Its writers were of all men most sane, and I for one believe they were expressing truths which they had discovered through many experiences.

One thing they had learned was that they could put their trust in God. It was not every man they met, nor friend they claimed, that they could trust. Men have a way sometimes of being deceitful, and friends a way of turning. But not so God. ... Is there anything men need more to know today than this characteristic of God? ...
