My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science always stands out to me as a most wonderful experience.

I had decided to leave the orthodox church, in which I had been active, because it did not seem to me that I was getting anything that helped me during the week. About this time a friend who was a Christian Scientist came to visit us. As a result of her visit I went to see a Scientist who lived on our street, and said, "I have come to find out about Christian Science." I was seeking a religion rather than a healing, but found both. When she told me about Christian Science, and that it was based on divine Principle, I accepted every word as the truth, and knew that it was what I had been seeking. And I was instantaneously healed of stomach trouble, from which I had suffered for three years and which doctors said could not be cured.

Paul says (II Cor. 5:17), "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." I felt that this had been my experience. It was like being born again—proof indeed of the power of Truth as revealed and taught by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
