Accept the Master's Invitation!

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matt. 11:28–30). What joy these words bring to every follower of the Christ, Truth, as he realizes the import of their comforting message! Christian Science shows that the Christ, Truth, so strikingly evidenced in the Master's life, is still here to guard, guide, protect, and govern mankind, regardless of how heavy its burden may seem to be.

The following experience of a little lad should be a beacon of hope to anyone in need of healing, for it proves the ever-presence of God's healing power. When doctors pronounced that the child was suffering from osteomyelitis and that there was little hope for his recovery, his parents felt that theirs was a burden almost too heavy to bear. The doctor in attendance recommended an operation, but said that the result would be very uncertain. Learning that the family were slightly interested in Christian Science, he encouraged them to persevere with it, stating that he had seen many wonderful healings through its sincere application.

The parents then began the study of Christian Science in earnest, and treatment was given by a practitioner. The healing was not immediate, but progress was steady and continuous. While the healing was taking place, the boy did not miss one day from school. He is now normal and active in every way, and engages in every type of athletic sport. Surely as they came to the Christ, Truth, the burden of these parents became light, and they found rest in divine Love.
