For a number of years blessings...
For a number of years blessings have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I have had many healings, the first of which was of a serious case of suppurating eczema. Since we had had experience in our family with this kind of trouble, there was a great deal of fear expressed. The eczema manifested itself on my face, ears, and neck, so that I was greatly embarrassed by my appearance. My mother took me to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment and, I am grateful to say, both she and the practitioner were faithful in the face of what seemed to be failure. At first, instead of disappearing, the eczema spread and grew much worse. An aunt and an uncle had had medical help for many years for a similar ailment, but my mother was sure that Christian Science would heal me. Having already experienced a healing of chronic headaches, she was convinced that Science was what she wanted for all her children, and her faith never wavered. After some months the eczema was wholly and permanently eradicated.
Since then I have had many healings, and I have seen many healings in my family. Recurring headaches, ivy poisoning, influenza, painful stomach disorders, colds, and sore throat have been healed; and wens and a goiter have disappeared without resorting to surgery. Christian Science has not only healed our physical ailments but has also brought to us the greatest measure of peace and contentment we have ever known. We are learning the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
To say that I am thankful to God does not half express my feelings. I am grateful that our Leader has interpreted for us Christ Jesus' beautiful and practical teachings. For membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for class instruction, and for the authorized Christian Science literature, which brings me so much help and encouragement, I am also very grateful.—(Miss) Elizabeth Kile, Chicago, Illinois.
