I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and for the many healings I have received through the study and application of this Truth.

Christian Science found me many years ago, a fearful, sick, and hopeless sufferer. A serious operation, which was to determine my chances to live, was pronounced unsuccessful by one of the most outstanding physicians on the West Coast. I was sent home with the understanding that there was no hope left for me in medical science. A physician on his last visit to see me said, "Only God can help you." My husband was told at this time to do everything possible that would add to my comfort, implying that the end was not far off.

At first I felt this verdict hanging over me constantly, and I was aware of an almost overwhelming opposition to my study of Christian Science, in which I had become slightly interested before the operation. For many months my only help was what truth I gleaned, little by little, from my study of the Bible, and from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This study alone saved me from passing on, and gave understanding with which to combat daily what appeared to be the last enemy. Gradually the truths I learned gave me added strength and confidence.
