Notices

The Christian Science periodicals have occasionally carried notices requesting branch churches, societies, and college organizations to prepare and send in historical statements relating to the inception and growth of their organizations. Many have responded to these requests, but others have not done so. All branches of The Mother Church which have not yet completed their histories are earnestly invited to do so and to send them to the Archives Division. Clerk's Office, in the near future for permanent preservation. This division was formerly known as the Bureau of History and Records.

Each statement should briefly conform to the historical facts and be accompanied by an eight-by-ten-inch photograph of the church edifice. Necessary details include:
Date of first interest in Christian Science.
Circumstances connected with this interest.
Full names of earliest students.
Full names of earliest practitioners.
Date of first meeting or service.
Date of organization.
List of charter members.
Date of recognition by The Mother Church.
Date of first lecture.
Date of purchase of church property.
Date of erection of edifice.
Date of dedication of edifice.
Each statement should be dated and signed by the clerk.

If a church or society does not have its own building at the time its history is sent in, a supplementary statement and a photograph should be furnished when an edifice is built and dedicated.
