Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Natal, South Africa

The work of this office increases in volume and in importance as Christian Science continues to make progress. In this province there is a growing recognition of our rights and privileges, and an increasing demand for the healing Christ, Truth.

During the legislative session under review, the Nursing Bill was discussed in the House of Assembly and placed on the Statute Book of South Africa. The bill was not designed to interfere with unregistered nurses outside the council of control, but it was found necessary to protect our right to use the term Christian Science Nurse for nurses who require their cards listed in The Christian Science Journal. It was also found necessary to make provision for medical nurses to have their names removed from the registers, should they decide to take up Christian Science nursing exclusively.
