I should like to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science, and for Mary Baker Eddy, who has given the revelation of the Christ, Truth, to the world. When it was first presented to me I was not greatly impressed, although I was in need of its healing ministry. A few years later it was again brought to my attention and I began to attend Sunday and Wednesday evening church services, as well as lectures. Through this attendance and the earnest study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of a distressing nervous disorder and other physical infirmities from which I had suffered since birth.

During this period it dawned on my consciousness that I did not have to endure a life of invalidism even though I had always been a frail child. My mother, who was very delicate, had passed on when I was quite young. I began to glimpse the fact that disease is but the illusion of mortal mind— the so-called opposite of the one and only Mind. God.

As I learned to claim God as Father-Mother, I gained a mental and physical freedom which enabled me to rear our son with complete confidence that he was subject to God's law alone. This protected him from any and all phases of error that tried to make their appearance.
