Although I have had many wonderful physical healings in Christian Science during the past few years, and attribute the health and the good that are in my life directly to it. I should at this time like to express my gratitude to God especially for the healing of several false appetites. I was healed of the smoking habit of over fifteen years' standing, and I know that it would be impossible for any individual to be held more strongly in bondage to the smoking habit than I was. I had not been reading the Christian Science textbook. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, very long when I became aware of a great desire to stop smoking. I did not at this time know how to handle the problem scientifically for myself, so I made every effort to stop by using human will power. The harder I tried, and the more sincere my efforts became, the harder it seemed to go without smoking. I was quite distressed about this for some time; then I asked a practitioner for help, and one day I found that I was not smoking any more.

An interesting thing about this healing is that I have never been able to remember when I bought the last package of cigarettes, or when or where I had smoked last. This healing has been complete, leaving no aftereffects of the habit whatever, thus proving that it was never at any time a part of my true being.

One thing that I should like to stress in regard to this experience is that of all the errors which claimed to be real to me not one of them seemed to hide the real beauty of God's creation for me as did the smoking habit.
