God's Day

Allowing the clock and the calendar to control one's life and dominate one's thinking is a phase of error. There are some whose every hour is planned by or for them, day in and day out, year in and year out. To such, missing the schedule at any point throws their day out of balance.

No one can live entirely unto himself. Thus the lives of those who come into relationship with the individual whose life is completely scheduled are affected by that individual's schedule. Members of a family or a business, to a large extent, conform their lives to fit the needs of such a one in order that all activities deemed vital to him may be carried on. The individual wants and desires of others are therefore submerged in favor of the one who dominates the situation.

For a number of years a student of Christian Science had allowed her thought to become mesmerized by the belief of personal responsibility for a family and a profession. She felt that by gaining more education and scholastic honors to meet the need of professional advancement, she could humanly do more for the family and those connected with her profession. And in striving to become an influence for good she considered herself very selfless. Therefore all her activities were scheduled. One cannot continue to be mesmerized, however, when one's motive is to do good.
