I write this testimony to express my gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, who showed us the way, and to Mrs. Eddy, for her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," in which she reveals the divine Principle of the Master's demonstrations. Also, I want to express my gratitude to my teacher and the spiritually-minded friends who have helped me to understand the healing truth.

Some time ago I underwent an operation which left me suffering great pain. One day when the pain was acute I collapsed. My maid was in the room and, unknown to me, she sent for our family physician, who called in a colleague. They refused to consent to my going to the East with my husband unless I saw a specialist in London. I saw the specialist, who said, "You will never be well unless you have another operation, and this you are not strong enough to stand."

A month later I went to the East with my husband. In Java I met the friend who first told me of Christian Science. I was greatly impressed by his conviction that the miracles of Christ Jesus were true, and could be repeated today through Christian Science. I told him that I was always in pain, and asked if he thought Science could help me. His reply was: "I do not think it would help you. I know it would." He lent me Science and Health, which I studied. Later in Melbourne, Australia, I went to a practitioner, who helped me to see the truth of being so clearly that I was healed, and was able to lay aside various surgical belts and also to cease wearing glasses.
