I am grateful to know that there is a religion which is finding its place in thousands of homes, displacing fear, unhappy conditions, and discouragement, and giving promises of a brighter future.
Christian Science did just this in our home thirty years ago. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, knew her discovery would bring to searchers for Truth the right concept of life. She starts her textbook thus (Science and Health, Pref., p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."
For forty years my father had indulged in the liquor habit, and he longed to be freed from its enslavement by some method other than that which was offered by materia medica, since he had seen mental weakness follow this kind of cure.
