Veritable History
Some families are so satisfied with their impressive ancestral record that they neglect to make good in their own generation. Pride in the past yields poor results in the present. Not heeding the significant warning. "Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies," they do not take stock of individual responsibility and potential ability.
In these days of unprecedented world upheaval, it is enlightening and stabilizing to consider the veritable history of Spirit and spiritual man printed in the inspired Word of the Bible. The pure Christianity which was demonstrated by Christ Jesus and his early followers is elucidated and rendered practical through Christian Science today. Truth's history holds no error. It points the way of deliverance from every human ill, every distressing shortcoming and circumstance.
It may be however, that some of us, even though we are students of Christian Science, are still accrediting as real certain mistakes we made in the past, and are thereby carrying forward their debit in the present. Some of us may be thinking wistfully of a happy past, and so have some dismal moments in the present. A smile may be on our lips, but is it always in our heart?
