It has been about twenty years since I took my first step out of material darkness into the sunlight of Truth, as revealed in Christian Science, and I feel that I have waited too long to express through our periodicals my gratitude for the many blessings that have come to me. In the Christian Science Sentinel I read this statement: "The testimony of each Christian Scientist has its rightful place and cannot be dispensed with." So I feel that my testimony should find its place and help someone in need.

As a child, the questions, "What and where is God?" and "Why and for what purpose am I here?" continually presented themselves, but after many years of searching in the orthodox churches, no answer was forthcoming. In spite of the fact that I was told that God had given me a family to care for, my physical condition was such that I was told I could live only a short time. I had heard of Christian Science through a sister, and in my extremity went to her for help. She put "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy as well as our Leader's other writings into my hands, and soon all questions were answered regarding God and man's relation to Him. Material laws were proved null and void, and I was healed. In order to show my gratitude for this healing I determined never to let anything keep me from the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and to try to live what I learned; so I have had many other proofs of God's care and protection.

I have seen influenza, angina, mastoiditis, headaches, and many other diseases vanish into their native nothingness, and am grateful for these proofs of healing; but nothing can compare with the peace and calm and confidence that Christian Science brings into human experience. I am grateful to God, the Giver of all good, to Christ Jesus, and to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science; also for membership in The Mother Church and in a Christian Science Society. It is a joy to have a part in this great Cause. I am also grateful that two of my daughters love Christian Science and are proving its power and availability.
