Our Distribution Work

When Jesus first sent forth his twelve disciples on their healing mission, he "gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God." The "power and authority" which Jesus gave those disciples was the spiritual understanding which would enable them to demonstrate the Christ, Truth. This small band of workers "departed, and went through the towns, preaching... and healing every where."

Upon their return they told Jesus what they had done, and he in turn took them into a desert place. Soon a multitude followed them, and Jesus told them of the kingdom and healed many. This multitude of five thousand men Jesus fed from the seemingly meager store of five loaves and two fishes.

It is the work of the distribution committees to bring to mankind Christian Science literature, which sets forth the truth that heals sin and sickness. It is essential for every student of Christian Science to evaluate properly the periodicals as organs of The Mother Church. They cannot be separate from the movement, but are vital to it. One is supporting the church as he supports the periodicals. While appreciating and supporting our literature, the distribution worker needs to guard against letting human activity eclipse the spiritual import of the work, believing that his whole duty is done merely by distributing papers.
