It is a great joy for me to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science through our periodicals.

One day I asked a Christian Scientist to take a ride with me, because I had to make a call at a physician's office. The invitation was extended to me to read a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I accepted. Heretofore I had not enjoyed reading, and so I seldom read. Now, however, I began to read the textbook, and at once received a complete healing of the thought that I needed a physician and that I could not read a book. I became very fond of the textbook, because it gave me a clear understanding of God. A few weeks later I found that the eczema which had been causing me great discomfort for months had completely vanished.

In examining my thought, I saw that Christian Science had healed me, and then I asked myself, What is Christian Science? Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I learned, had defined it in "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1) as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."
