"Arise up quickly"

"Arise up quickly.... Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals.... Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me."

This was the angel's instruction to Peter, who "was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains." And what did Peter do? Did he fail to give heed? Did he lament that the situation was to all appearances hopeless, and that he might as well let things take their natural course? No, indeed! Instead, he immediately obeyed the divine call, and as a consequence, was soon set free.

Bible readers are familiar with the above quotations, taken from the twelfth chapter of Acts, and with Peter's remarkable deliverance from the prison into which King Herod had thrown him.
