Radio Program

[Christian Science program over Station WEAF, New York City, conducted by DeWitt A. Davidson, April 4, 1943. Subject: "Victory through the Spirit."]

A Christian Science program was conducted from Station WEAF, New York City, on Sunday, April 4, at 8.30 a.m., Eastern War Time, by DeWitt A. Davidson of New York City. The program was given under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for the State of New York and had the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. The "Symphonic Four" quartet was assisted by a staff organist.

The program opened with Hymn No. 326 in the Christian Science Hymnal. Then Mr. Davidson read an address substantially as follows:

Centuries ago an Old Testament prophet addressed his people thus: "Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you." This sound warning was heeded by his listeners, for the record concludes: "When they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them. ... And the Lord gave them rest round about." Centuries later, the master Christian, Christ Jesus, proclaiming the healing and saving power of the divine presence, said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." And he healed the sick, cleansed the sinful, and comforted the sorrowing.
