Christian Science Committee on Publication for Iowa Reports

The publishing of "Thought Gems" as prepared in the office of the Manager of Committees on Publication and mimeographed here for Iowa newspapers has continued in nearly seventy publications. These selected quotations from the Bible, from our Leader's works, and from other well-known writers, when published in groups on subjects of general interest, enable newspaper readers to compare Mrs. Eddy's writings with what is found in the Scriptures, as well as with what other authors have written, and this comparison always reveals our Leader's words as setting forth the highest possible spiritual concept of man and his relation to his fellow man and to God, the Father of us all.

It has also been our privilege to offer to local newspaper editors, for reprinting, some of the religious articles from the Home Forum page of The Christian Science Monitor, and this has made it possible to acquaint many newspaper readers with the teaching of Christian Science in its application to the solution of various human problems. About ninety of these articles were printed through the year.

The radiocasting of our Christian Science programs from the studio of WHO, Des Moines, each Sunday morning, continues to interest a large number of listeners. During the year one hundred and fourteen letters were received from listeners, and seventy-three per cent of the writers requested literature.
