Gratitude

W. CYPRIAN BRIDGE

O Great protector , Father-Mother God,
Our songs of praise to Thee in joy we raise
For Thy enduring, all-embracing love.
We feel Thy constant presence day by day,
And in Thine outstretched arms our refuge find,
Embattled round with Thy love's panoply.
No error can perplex us when Thou'rt near,
Nor aught deprive us of Thy wondrous care.
At one with Thee, from evil we're secure,
Nor can our foes our daily course assail.
When danger threatens, turning unto Thee
We hear Thy voice and know that all is well.
Thou guid'st us ever to Thy throne of grace,
There to find peace, an everlasting peace,
Such as mere human thought can ne'er conceive
Nor mortal sense can know, or aught destroy.
O loving Lord, sustainer of us all,
With loud hosannas shouting grateful praise,
From joyful hearts paeans on high we raise.
Our thanks go out to Thee with love unbounded
For all the good Thou dost on us bestow.
