With all my heart, I thank our Father-Mother God for having led me to Christian Science, and I am deeply grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her inspired work for mankind.

In the spring of 1942 I left my position because of a nervous breakdown. After passing through a period of much fear, I was taught that the first step in healing is to allay fear. A short time later, as the truth of being dawned in my consciousness, the fear lessened and gradually disappeared.

At this time I was advised to go to the Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts; and for the privilege of rest and study there I am most grateful to the officers and the associates. I am also grateful for the kind attention given me during my six weeks' stay. During the last two or three days of my stay there the healing came. I was overjoyed, for it proved that Christian Science is indeed the way through which "old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." I know that this experience was an opportunity for further growth and unfoldment in the study of Christian Science, and that I had to learn to be more persistent in working out my salvation.
