I want to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. The teachings she left to us are a rich and glorious legacy.

I took up the study of Christian Science not for physical healing, but for rest and peace of mind. I was sick of the world as I knew it. Needless to say, I found all I was looking for and more. The one thing that was hard for me to understand was how Christian Science could declare that man is perfect. After I had studied Science for about a year I saw one day that man is coexistent and coeternal with God and that man's true consciousness is spiritual. I saw man as God made him, not material, but spiritual. That was over fifteen years ago. I have never lost that vision.

My first healing in Christian Science was of will power. I took off my glasses, saying, "I shall never read again until I read without glasses." I could not read without them, for everything was blurred, so I put them on again. I studied the Lesson-Sermon every morning. Soon I took off my glasses, because I no longer needed them, and I have never put them on again.
