It is with overflowing gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I should like to tell some of the reasons for my great debt of love to her and her Cause, to consecrated practitioners, and to those whose testimonies have been a source of encouragement along the way.

My first introduction to Christian Science was over twentyeight years ago through its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had a severely festered hand, which the physician said could not be lanced for fortyeight hours. Since I was scheduled to play in a piano recital I telephoned in desperation to a friend who I knew had taken up this religion, to ascertain if I could be helped. I was told to borrow a copy of Science and Health and read the chapter on Recapitulation. As I pondered the first few statements a great illumination flooded my consciousness, and reading on I was overjoyed to find the answer to questions concerning God which had remained unanswered during my childhood. The realization that God is Love banished the pain immediately, and when I awoke in the morning no trace of the difficulty remained. I went at once to a practitioner to have this miracle more fully explained to me, which was satisfactorily done.

Some of the fruits of my studies during the years are as follows: I was healed of constant backache and severe pain in the side during my girlhood, ptomaine poisoning, influenza during an epidemic, chronic grippe, and severe pains in the arm. I experienced the removal of a growth through the operation of Christian Science alone. This healing took place about a year after the appearance of the growth and was performed painlessly and bloodlessly and was accompanied by a deep sense of the tender presence and nearness of God. Moreover, the Bible has become clearer to me through the study of our Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and the use of the Concordances, and this revelation of Christ, Truth, has healed and restored the moral fiber of my character, has given me increased endurance, and has strengthened me physically and spiritually.
