In the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, there appears this statement (Art. XXX, Sect. 7): "I recommend that each member of this Church shall strive to demonstrate by his or her practice, that Christian Science heals the sick quickly and wholly, thus proving this Science to be all that we claim for it."

Through the application of the truths taught in the Bible and the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," also the other writings of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I have upon numerous occasions been healed quickly and wholly of various physical and mental distresses. Influenza was healed through the realization of the statement in Science and Health (pp. 103, 104): "In reality there is no mortal mind, and consequently no transference of mortal thought and will-power. Life and being are of God. In Christian Science, man can do no harm, for scientific thoughts are true thoughts, passing from God to man." During this experience I gained a better sense of the art of receiving, learning to be less self-conscious in accepting the kindly ministrations of the loving members of my family—in other words, a better spiritual understanding of God as the infinite source of supply.

Through the study of the definition of "Jerusalem" in Science and Health (p. 589) I have witnessed many beautiful demonstrations of Love's provision in the sale of real estate. Always bearing in thought that we had something to give which was needed by another, thereby blessing the recipient, and through exercising the qualities of patience and confidence, we were able to accomplish, quickly and satisfactorily, the sale of several properties during times of depression, when there seemed to be no activity along these lines.
