Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

France.

An important work to which the Committee on Publication has given his attention is that of the Christian Science Wartime Activities Center. This Center was organized at the very outbreak of the war and sent a great deal of Christian Science literature to soldiers, sailors, and fliers in the French forces. This work has been and still is being continued for prisoners, to whom books, pamphlets, and Christian Science Quarterlies have been and are being sent. In order to ensure regular and official transmission of this literature, the Committee on Publication established contact with the special service of the Y. M. C. A., Which has particularly taken charge of transmitting religious reading matter to prisoners. This contact has proved to be most harmonious, and friendly and efficient co-operation is given us by the Y. M. C. A. officials.

During the period of October, 1940, to September, 1941, one hundred and eleven invoices were made to prisoners. Such invoices are sent only to those individual prisoners of war whose names and addresses are given to us by their relatives and friends.
